BERLIN – A German court has ruled against a dentist who had refused to employ a veiled Muslim woman because she declined to remove her headscarf, blaming him for breaching the Equal Treatment Act.

“The dentist broke the law because he refused the plaintiff the position only because she didn’t want to take off her headscarf,” the spokesman for the Berlin industrial tribunal said, UPI news agency reported on Friday, October 19.

UN official Claims 9-11 Was US Plot

Source : http://www.geo.tv/1-26-2011/77666.htm

NEW YORK: UN Human Rights official Richard Falk wrote on his blog that there had been an “apparent cover up” by American authorities. He added that most media were “unwilling to acknowledge the well-evidenced doubts about the official version of the events” on 9-11, despite it containing “gaps and contradictions”.

And he described David Ray Griffin, a conspiracy theorist highly regarded in the so-called “9-11 truth” movement, as a “scholar of high integrity” whose book on the subject was “authoritative”.

Ban Ki-Moon, the UN Secretary-General, described the comments as “preposterous” and “an affront to the memory of the more than 3,000 people who died in the attack.” But Ban said that it was not for him to decide whether Prof Falk, who serves the organization as a special investigator into human rights abuses in the Palestinian territories, should be fired by the UN.

Vijay Nambiar, Ban’s chief of staff, said this was up to the human rights council, a 47-nation body based in Geneva, Switzerland, that was created by the UN in 2006.

UN Watch, a pressure group that monitors the organisation, has called for Prof Falk to be sacked. Hilel Neuer, the group’s chief executive, described him as “a serial offender with zero credibility”.

The row came as the new Republican-led US Congress opened an inquiry into “urgent problems” with America’s contribution to the UN, including its membership of the human rights council.

Comments : After killing thousands of people ,with the help from Pakistan Army  and NATO, Pentagon/CIA still is not able to prove their claims about 9-11. War Crimes? War Tribunal? Justice for those who died on 9-11 and who died after that in the name of 9-11? UN Charter for Human Rights? This not a war against terror or terrorism. This is a war against humanity, justice and peace.

Pak Army Extra-Judicial Killing of 6 Prisoners–>We need war crimes tribunal

Another story of brutality in this so called war against terror has come on internet. In the video Pakistan Army soldiers are doing extra-judicial killing of 6 prisoners (seems to be of young age) in area probably of Khaiber Pakhtoonkhwa.

Previously videos of torture including old men have come on the media and army promised an inquiry but no results came , also reports of civilian killings through indiscriminate bombings is a usual practice in this so called war against terror.

We seriously need a “War Tribunal” to probe unconstitutional actions, extra-judicial killings, drone attacks with support from Pakistan government/army, illegal abductions and other human rights violations by Army and other security institutions in this so called war against terror.

If we think we are a civilized nation with some sort of sense of justice and humanity then we need to take some bold measures. We need to understand actions like these extra-judicial killings will promote terrorism and will not help the cause of peace (if this is the real purpose of this war which doesn’t seem to be).

[ Video : Alleged execution of prisoners in Pakistan]

Though there is a statement in media as usual claiming these videos to be faked but we can’t trust them unless free and fair investigation with proper trial are conducted for these actions.

Image building dramas like stopping NATO supplies or showing false discontent on drone attacks will not solve the problem. Army really needs to behave as a naitonal and civilized army not an occupied force.

Topic:148 MNAs, MPAs hold fake degrees, says ex-ECP secretary:Ansar Abbasi article in the News

The News

Almost 148 MNAs and MPAs are feared to be holding fake degrees, disclosed Kanwar Dilshad, the former secretary Election Commission of Pakistan. Dilshad, who retired last year from the Election Commission of Pakistan, and had supervised the 2008 elections, cited intelligence reports as the source of his information. If this is factually true, the dearth of morality at the highest levels of our political culture is stinking, said an analyst.Talking to The News here on Wednesday, Dilshad said the number of petitions pending wever, far less than what the intelligence reports suggest. The incumbent Secretary Election Commission Ishtiaq Ahmad when contacted said recently the Election Commission had sought the details of such cases from the provincial election commissioners and found that a total of 70 cases of fake degrees came before the election tribunals. He said the election tribunals have so far decided 24 cases whereas another 46 such cases are still pending before different election tribunals. Ishtiaq Ahmad did not know about the intelligence reports as referred to by his predecessor, but he revealed that the ordinary people had started challenging degrees of the MPs even in ordinary courts. As a routine, he said, one or two applications are received by the Election Commission daily from ordinary people, seeking copies of the degrees submitted by the MPs at the time of the filing of their election papers for the Feb 2008 elections. He explained that other than those already challenged in the election tribunals, the degrees of the MPs if found suspicious are also being challenged in a court of civil judge. He said some people opt to directly approach the high courts in such matters. In the 2008 elections, which were held under the election rules and qualifications as set by General Musharraf during his rule, those interested to contest for national or provincial assemblies were required to be at least graduates (holding Bachelor degree). However, later before Asif Ali Zardari’s election as the President of Pakistan, the then Dogar court nullified the condition of BA as the minimum qualification required for the members of the provincial assemblies, the National Assembly and the Senate. The issue of fake degrees of the MPs is in focus of the media recently after at least three MNAs resigned from their membership of the National Assembly after their degrees were proved as fake before the apex court. In order to avoid disqualification, they submitted their resignations in the Supreme Court before any ruling was given by the court. Interestingly, parliament and the government are unmoved on this issue despite reports about growing number of fake degree holders in parliament.
