Imran Khan interview with Jasmeen Manzoor; Some real disappointments.

Its not a secret that I have been supporting Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) and Imran Khan for a long time. I supported them because they were bold in their opposition of General (R) Musharraf and his dictatorship. They were bold against his war on terror policies, attack on judiciary, attack on media, war crimes and violations of human rights.

However, the recent troop worship mindset or I should say surrender in front of troop worship mindset by PTI and IK is really disappointing for me.

The current post is mostly a series of comments on IK’s recent interview with Jasmeen Manzoor. You can watch the interview here on these links:

http://insaf.pk/mediagallery/videos/item/1788020-tonight-with-jasmeen-exclusive-interview-with-imran-khan-may-05-2014

– Quoting Singapore example is pathetic. Singapore is very low in ranking when it comes to media freedom. So PTI is going to go for a Singapore type strangle hold on media? are we going for Zia or Ayub type media policies? Justice without freedom is nothing and not possible. There is no justice in slavery and a party like Pakistan Tehreek e “Insaf” should know this thing. Media freedom also includes freedom to be biased or freedom to propagate their own agenda (right or wrong is a subjective thing).

– One thing he should also know is that it was not Geo which started this Taliban Khan rant, it was General (Retarded) Musharraf who first used the term Taliban without a beard for Imran Khan but then again IK has forgotten all this in his newly discovered troop worship nationalism.

– Appealing people to boycott Geo voluntarily is the right way instead of siding with military on an issue involving an attack over journalist like Hamid Mir. Geo surely did deceptive reporting as they are a business group with business interests but focusing the attention on a business group and vindicating military establishment which actually runs the show is disappointing. He is criticizing Geo on supporting war on terror but probably forgot to mention who is fighting this war or who brought this war in the first place? Its army that did this! He forgot to mention General (R) Kiyani who criticized the people who were against this war and he did this right before elections.

Its just like a surrender in front of troop worship mindsets which also include many of PTI supporters and leaders too. As a leader, he should help people take a stand in front of tyrants like he did during judiciary movement or during his consistent opposition against this war. Its seem (with huge disappointment) that even he is tired or defeated and now seems to be in a compromising mood. Disappointment is not seeing people like Nawaz, Zardari, Altaf etc surrendering in front of military might but disappointment is seeing people like IK, who have achieved so much for the country, surrendering in front of military mafia.

– Where is the plan to challenge PPO? PPO is a blunder and a gift to army which can be well used by them to target political parties like PMLN itself or PTI or JI or others in case of a martial law. Nawaz has a habit of shooting in the foot by trusting military with more power but now IK is learning these skills.

What about missing persons issue? Why no protests against the use of fighter jets like JF-17 thunder on Pakistani populated areas? Why no protest against army for protecting Musharraf? Army will burn the whole country just to protect their interests and people like Mushi but troop worship mindset will still chant Zindabad slogans for them which is a big big shame.

Hamid Mir endorses brother’s claims of threats from ISI:Geo tv

KARACHI: Senior anchorperson Hamid Mir who was critically injured in an armed attack is his first statement issued after regaining consciousness that his programme ‘Capital Talk’ on Mama Qadeer Baloch’s long march to Islamabad had annoyed the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Amir Mir, senior journalist and brother of Hamid Mir, read out the statement before the media from outside the hospital.

“Men of some intelligence agency had come to my house, telling me that my name is on the hit-list,” Amir Mir read out the text. “When I asked as to who had prepared the hit-list, the men gave no response.”

Hamid Mir said he had told them that in the prevailing circumstance he had faced greatest threats from the ISI and they should convey this to their bosses.

The statement further said: “If any harm came to me or my family, the state and non-state actors will be responsible.”

“I had been receiving threats from both state and non-state actors,” it added.

“I had informed in advance about the threats to the Geo’s administration, family members, close friends and companions. I had also pointed out the elements from whom I faced the threats.”

Hamid Mir asked in the statement as to why no action was taken against the elements who had planted explosives beneath his car. “Why were these elements not exposed,” he questioned.

“Despite a police report, no action was taken against the people who had attacked my children in Islamabad,” the statement added.

In the beginning of the statement, Hamid Mir thanked the people of Pakistan for being blessed with a new life.

PTI is up against two products of establishment: NRO gang and IJI-2 or 10 Parties Alliance: Its time for Change and Naya Pakistan

It seems establishment is afraid of seeing a mindset of change in many people of Pakistan especially educated youth. They have now resurrected their old products to fight against any possible change in status-quo.

PTI is against two products of establishment :

1- NRO gang : PPP,MQM,ANP,PMLQ,APML

2-10 Party alliance or IJI-2:http: PML-F, PML-N, Jamat e Islami, Jamiat Ulema e Islam-Fazal (JUI-F), Jamiat Ulema e Pakistan (JUP) and others.

Islami Jamhoori Ittehad (IJI) was formed by ISI in 1988 to counter PPP under Benazir Bhutto and now it seems they have again formed it to counter the rising power of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf. Leaders of JI and PML-N call it an alliance against PPP and MQM but we know PPP and MQM are already part of establishment’s other gang i.e. NRO gang launched by former dictator General (R) Musharraf.

Lets see if people can call this bluff from IJI-2 parties who are trying to hijack the momentum of change like Tahir al Qadri tried or Musharraf tried in his second failed coming. Establishment always find it easy to deal with old status-quo parties and groups like NRO gang, MMAs or IJIs but they cannot see a genuine force of change like PTI to come in power because someone like Imran Khan can neither be bought nor he can be cornered or pressurized as he doesn’t have a record full of political and financial corruption.

SC orders to public Lal Masjid Commission report

Supreme Court has ordered to public lal masjid commission report and told the government to give it to anyone requesting for it. In the report the commission has put the blame of innocent loss of lives on General (R) Pervaiz Musharraf and his team at that time including former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.

There were some issues in the report which are still a subject of great like the body count and who died. Reportedly, according to the commission report some 103 people were killed in the operation including 92 civilians and 11 security personnel. They also said that no woman was killed in the operation.

However, according to several accounts from lal masjid students, prominent journalists and religious leaders, there were much casualties including women and children. Those who were killed, also allegedly included mother of Abdur Rasheed Ghazi and Abdul Aziz.

Before jumping on any conclusion, we need to take this report very carefully and in full context.

There are two parts of the issue:

a) circumstances in which the operation happened:

The commission interviewed people involved in negotiations and from establishment. based on that they put the blame on government for unnecessary loss of innocent lives. they have recommended DIYAT for the victims and also mentioned that they can go for QISAS as well.

b) ground evidence and number count of bodies and who died:

They had to rely on people sitting in ISI, MI or IB to get ground intelligence on that.

A good thing Supreme Court has done is that they have told the government to make the report public and so it will be a good chance for victim families and supporters to come forward and challenge the given figures based on possible lies of ISI, IB and MI or other govt. agencies. We need to know that most of the relevant ground evidence was destroyed by Army when they shut down the area.

Lal Masjid Operation–> Hamid Mir article in Jang

Another good article by Hamid Mir on how establishment under Musharraf created this mess of terrorism and sectarian violence in Pakistan. My view on the issues are:

General Musharraf, Army and other pro-war lobbies used sectarian and social class differences in the society to forward their war agenda. Before 2005-06, there wasn’t much support for this fake war on terror but after that time they worked
on sectarian and social-class lines to create acceptability for this war. 2007 Lal-Masjid operation was in those same lines. The other thing they did was to exploit ethnic differences to strengthen his rule and MQM/PPP/ANP assisted 12 May 2007 was part of that policy. These things may have helped Musharraf in his war agenda or temporarily strengthening his rule but this has put Pakistan into a self-destructing mode.

Below is the article by Hamid Mir on Lal Masjid Operation. published in Jang:

May Allah give justice to the victims of this barbaric action by state institutions and give strength to the judges of Supreme Court to deliver justice without any fear. We also need to make state institutions clean from these evil minds who plot these evil things against the country and its people.

Malala Issue, drones, NWA operation and fog of this fake war on terror

Recent events of march against drone strikes and attack on Malala Yousafzai have raised some important questions in my mind. These questions are mainly related to the timing of the event and how past events were dealt by the government and security institutions.

If Benazir Murder case is resolved then a lot can be understood about this fake war. For a start, one should ask that how was it possible that some rogue terrorists were able to delete or tempered the mobile communication record from the area? As far as I know that only ISI or some other high level intelligence organization like CIA (Like NADRA data they can surely access this data too) can do it.

These incidents like Benazir, Malala, Islamic University blast or Peshawar market blasts (denied by Talibans) happen at crucial times when anti-war protests take momentum or some crucial decisions are being made about further operations.

Another interesting event is the letter written by Afghan (Pentagon puppet) President Hamid Karzai to PTI’s Chairman, Imran Khan. For those who think that Malala issue is not related to drones and military operations or this fake war, there are few things to ponder upon (If they have the brain to do so). Why the president of a country would like to write a letter to Imran Khan and show the concerns which are shown by social-class and sectarian fascists in Pakistan and pro-imperialism media in USA? It seems Imran Khan and PTI’s march against drone strikes not only disturbed the plans of Pakistani sectarian and social-class fascists but also disturbed the pro-war scum internationally.

Another thing to understand about drone, NWA operation and Malala issue is that Imran Khan is scheduled to lead a protest in front of UN on 26th October 2012.

We need to find answers for these questions. For a start on Malala’s issue, government’s own interior minister Rehman Malik denied the involvement of TTP. Even if it is TTP then there are more than 15 (some say 30) groups working as TTP.

Some are fighting for revenge, some are being funded by international enemies of the country who want Pakistan to remain stuck in this war and some are local criminal gangs. Unless they are not identified clearly, word Taliban has no meaning. Free and Fair investigation can only be done in current scenario through Supreme Court or some investigation body working under SC. But again judiciary is being badly cornered by the government and army due to corruption and missing persons cases. That is why I say for a start we need to find the names behind Benazir murder case.

People say that these tribes and terrorists are ideologically connected. Ideologically connected is also a vague term. People with same customs, cultures or grievances  or may be some other common points can be termed as ideologically connected. With this logic most Indians can be termed as RSS, most USA can be connected to Bund or KKK, all Irish people can be termed as IRA, all British people can blamed for the crimes of East India Company, most Israelis can be linked with Stern gang, most Germans can be linked with Nazis etc. Without addressing the root causes, one cannot solve this issue and waging a war against populations after some isolated incidents doesn’t look very intelligent especially after a decade of destruction.

When are we going to learn the lessons from past mistakes? Or Pakistan army and government are committed to repeat another 1971?

Rare video of Dr. Aafia Siddiqi (1991-Houston)

Below is a rare video of Dr. Aafia Siddiqi, recorded in 1991 in Houston.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Skmj16h40wE

Lady of this physique is facing 86 years sentence in USA jail for snatching gun from more than one USA marine soldiers during her arrest in Afghanistan. In the process she left no finger print on the gun (as accepted by FBI official) and got shot herself.

The main allegations on her for which she was abducted (or at least CIA/ISI/FBI spread these allegations through their pets in media) were never presented in the court as they didn’t have presentable evidence. These allegations were:

1- Links with Al-Qaida
2-Invovlvement in activities like Blood Diamonds

After looking at Brian Banks case, one can easily see how much jury can be influenced by alien appearance of the person presented in front of them. Even for many Pakistani pseudo liberals or social class fascists, her head scarf and affection with religion are enough to declare her terrorist.

In Brian Banks story, he was made to go for no-contest in an allegation of rape to face less sentence as opposed to 41 years imprisonment. According to recent evidence he didn’t commit the rape. He  had to go for no-contest because his lawyer suggested that if he goes for contesting the case, the jury will see him as a big black guy and will be automatically considered as guilty.
