An indefinite curfew has been imposed in Srinagar and a case has been filed against All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq following Friday’s violence and arson attack on a police barrack in the Kashmir Valley region.
Curfew has also been imposed in Anantnag, Bijbehara, Pulwama, Kakapora, Sopore and Baramulla.
On Saturday, as the valley was celebrating Eid, mobs went on rampage and set fire to a police post outside the Hazratbal shrine.
As security forces tried to control the crowds, a complex that houses the state’s power department and crime branch headquarters, also went up in flames. Protesters targetted everything that symbolised state authority.
“As far as the AFSPA is concerned, we want the repeal of it. Half-hearted steps will not take us anywhere as these are mere gestures. We need a concrete, solution oriented process. The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) is meeting and the government is talking amongst themselves, this is not helping,” said Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
“It would have been better to make a fair assessment here on the ground and then respond to the entire situation…control the situation first…see that what has been happening for last three months. I wish that both the central and state government turn serious and do something which is required…which matches the entire situation and the crisis,” said Nizamuddin Bhat, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader.
On the other hand, Indian occupied Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah blamed the militant for not honouring their promise to have peaceful processions, and said this would be a huge setback to the peace initiative that was to be announced on Monday.
Establishment’s policy of exploiting sectarianism is giving fruits–> a note on recent attacks on qadiyani worship places and mausoleum of ali hajveri
The strategy to exploit sectarianism to expand the war and extend the rule is hitting us badly. Previously attacks on qadiyani worship places and now mausoleum of ali hajveri not only show the incompetency of our security institutions but also show how bad the policies pay which are made with a narrow mindset filled with greed and prejudice. The logics like “Masjid e Zarrar” which were floated in the masses when they attacked lal masjid in Islamabad, bombed madrissahs resulted in the killings of innocent children, women and men in tribal areas, all in the name of “War on Terror” has resulted in more terror. The policy of divide and rule is giving its fruits.
So called nationalism and sectarian backed liberalism is hitting us bad. We really need to find a peaceful way out of this war. The war has strongly damaged our social fabric, now the diversity and some academic and historical differences which were there in the form of different sects like shia, sunni, wahabi, deobandi etc have now turned into a clash. All this was done deliberately like it is done in Iraq, Afghanistan and even in this region during 1757-1857 British takeover of Indian Sub-continent. In all cases local corrupt elite in politics, mercenary forces or so -called intellectual classes played their dirty role. If Musharraf has to be trialed someday, this crime alone should be enough to give him an exemplary punishment but the problem is current Zardari-Kiyani duo is toeing the same policies.
Whether innocent people are dying in drone attacks, military operations or suicide bombings the historical fact is they don’t add to the cause of peace but result in more terrorist activities which lead to more military operations and so this vicious cycle of death and fear is going on and on with no real directions.
We strongly oppose the innocent killings in the name of war, revenge or in any name. We demand a peaceful way out of this imperialist war against peace, humanity and justice.
Just a message for all:
“O ye who believe! Be steadfast witnesses for Allah in equity, and let not hatred of any people seduce you that ye deal not justly. Deal justly, that is nearer to your duty. Observe your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is Informed of what ye do.” (Al-Maeda:8)

The impeachment drama to keep people away from the real issues by our corrupt so called representatives is about to enter into the climax(ending will be positive inshaAllah but for that we have to get ready for a long struggle).
The Pakistan Feudal Party (I don’t know why it is still known as People’s Party) Chairman Asif Ali Zardari (his appointment is a classic example of their commitment with democracy, how can a person inherit people’s will?), blessed by Musharraf with NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance to legalize the loot and plunder our so called political and not so political like Rehman Malik etc did during the last few decades) is now staging a drama to give Musharraf a safe exit(What safe exit and to whom? To a killer of thousands and the person who betrayed constituion and the nation!).
The only thing which is creating hurdle is retired general’s will “to serve” his nation more but since the green signal is there from the “masters” of Pakistan so in the new script its hard to fit Musharraf .Our “masters” don’t want Iran type revolution where people got so frustrated with the Shah that they kicked him them-selves and if Musharraf stays for more period and the blood pressure of the masses rise to the threshold level of “enough is enough” then people will take there future in there hand and topple the current dying system so our “masters” sitting in Washington need a change , a change like Zardari who with his wicked smile believes can fool the whole nation, intellectuals, lawyers, students etc .
Zardari is backed by low lives like Nawaz, Maulana diesel, Asfand Yaar etc to accompany him to achieve the goals for which he cashed the death of his wife (Benazir Bhutto, I don’t know after wasting so much time and elimination of key witnesses and proofs how her death can properly be investigated ?) and soon after the removal of Musharraf the parties in Musharraf camp will join him (you can see it how MQM played a “neutral” role in Sind assembly during the impeachment resolution).
SCBA has increased the deadline to 15 September but I still have doubts that Mr. Zardari will take the risk to restore the independent judges without protecting the NRO, he is not here to protect the rights of people, he has nothing to do with roti, kapra or makaan and all he cares about his greed and lust of power for which he can do any thing.
Sooner or later the nation will realize that the solutions of there problems are not in the hands of the dictators like Musharraf( people are there who have hopes with him, can only regret on this) or feudals like Zardari or corrupt businessmen like Nawaz or killers and looters like Altaf or soulless mullahs like Maulana Fazal ur Rehman , people have to rise for there own country them-selves.
It’s time to rise against the forces of status-quo and work for real social and economic justice in the country.
Go! Status-Quo G0!
