A Letter to U.S ambassador in UK –> Insaf Forum

Mr Robert Holmes Tuttle,
I tried to have a word with you over the telephone on 9th July but found out that its not possible to do so and today I am writing you instead. I tried to explain your members of staff at the embassy, what my query was, but none of them had an answer for me. So I would like to request you to help me out if possible.
Earlier this month, Yvonne Ridley one of the well known journalists of England along with Imran Khan Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf held a press conference in Pakistan, in which Yvonne Ridley claims that a Pakistani woman is detained along with men in Bagram Jail (controlled by US army) without any charges from several years and is being tortured badly. No one know who she is but the people those who have been there, state that they have heard her screaming and asking for helping.
So would you be able to confirm that Ms Ridley is making true claims against US Military. If that is the reality, with all due respect I would like to ask you that do you treat American women in the same way in States? Do you detain them without charges for as long as you like? Do you torture them in the same way?
Mr Tuttle, I believe it is violation of human rights and I hope that you would agree with me. So, may I ask you that could you please bring out details of prisoner 650 in Bagram jail so that we all know who she is and what wrong has she done. If she has committed a crime she should be allowed for trial in the court(as every human being on the face of earth is born with this right).
My image about American Government would be even better if you could help out with this prisoner 650 because I believe that U.S stands upright for human rights in every part of the world and likes to help those who are ignored.
None of the staff member knew what I was talking about when I called, so I would like to send you a video link along which can make my point even clearer.

I am adding my details below and would like an answer from you, either way in writing or via e-mails.

Its already three weeks now and I never Received any answer from him.

Could you please come up with any suggestion, that how can we raise this Dr. Afia’s Case.
That will be great. Because U.S Ambassader doesn’t seem very much bothered about answering my letter.

PCO judges upset, under pressure: Iftikhar

(The News)

By Ameen Abbasi

BAHAWALPUR: Deposed chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said on early Sunday the Pakistani lawyers’ movement for the rule of law and independence of the judiciary was strengthening day by day and it would achieve its goals soon.

Addressing an All Pakistan lawyers’ convention at the High Court Bar Association, Bahawalpur, he claimed it had become an international movement as bars and lawyers all over the world were supporting it. He said millions of people were joining the movement for an independent judiciary.

“After the disgrace of the judiciary on November 3, 2007, it was amazing for everyone how lawyers, civil society and the masses supported the drive. Good governance only comes through the rule of law and the Constitution. The rule of law and the Constitution is guaranteed by an independent judiciary.”

He said an independent judiciary also secured the rights of the poor and the oppressed. “Lawyers are the soul of the movement and the media is its voice. The media has brought the lawyers movement into the limelight and made it a common man’s issue,” he added. He said many judges who had taken oath under the PCO were upset and felt it was against their conscience.

He said during his tenure, he took up the common man’s issues through suo motu notices and the illegal sale of kidneys was taken up for immediate legislation.

Earlier, the deposed CJ was accorded a rousing welcome on his arrival in Bahawalpur at 3 am, about eight hours behind his schedule. He was warmly received at the River Sutlej bridge on the Bahawalpur-Multan Road as it was his first to the city after his removal.

Agencies add: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Aitzaz Ahsan warned if the judges were not reinstated by August 14, a new drive would be announced on August 15. Addressing the lawyers’ convention, he said the people of Multan and Bahawalpur had proved they were with Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

Ali Ahmad Kurd said, “Only Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is the chief justice of Pakistan. No one can dare change him.” Justice Jahangir Arshad charged the government of lying. “Whatever the law minister says, it looks as if Wasi Zafar is speaking and Information Minister Sherry Rehman speaks the language of Muhammad Ali Durrani,” he charged.

United4Justice: It’s great to see movement going on with full swing despite Qyumitus or Dogar Virus as they are said.

InshaAllah success will be of the right and justice will prevail.
