According to media reports, Mehsud tribes faction of TTP has left the TTP under Fazlullah due to internal fighting. This event can be used as an opportunity to take Mehsud and Wazir tribes on board for peace.
Instead of using aerial bombings and military operation against civilian populations of Mehsud and Wazir tribes, its time to take them on board for peace in the area. Army will not do it as they don’t find any charm in peace, its the duty of civilian leadership to take the lead.
A window of peace opportunity has opened up which shouldn’t be missed. PMLN,PTI and JI who took votes on their anti-war and anti-drone stances should now do some real efforts even if they have to confront the occupied mercenary armed forces of Pakistan who have been fighting this war as hired guns for imperialist powers.
According to media reports, Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) has finally woke up and found sometime from good for nothing Geo bashing to put some light on North Waziristan bombing issue.
According to DAWN:
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Tuesday said it appears as if a conspiracy is being hatched to detach North Waziristan from the country and vowed to bring the matter to Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif’s notice, DawnNews reported.
Briefing the media after attending a meeting of the party’s core committee here, he said that he will meet with the army chief and appeal to him to stop the military offensive in North Waziristan.
The PTI chief said he witnessed similar situation in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) during the military operation before it was detached from rest of the country in 1971.
In past few days, army used heavy jet and gunship helicopter bombings over civilian population which resulted in the deaths of dozens of innocent people including kids.
Good to see him at least waking up on the issue even if a bit too late.
As far as smelling conspiracy to detach N Waziristan is concerned, I think its a bit too late. The option of detachment now looks perfectly moral and logical especially when populations in settled areas of Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore sided with the mercenary army in their merciless bombings over civilians in tribal areas.
It will still be interesting to see if IK is really going to do something about these bombings or is he just giving a false hope to the people affected by these bombings?
People are much important than land or some fake sense of unity or some good for nothing national pride. If a state has to use bombings to keep parts of its country occupied then it means it has no moral authority to have that part. Peaceful division of Pakistan is much better than bloodshed of kids. If Pakistanis don’t like people of FATA and Baluchistan, and are even ready to bomb their kids then why Pakistan is forcing them to stick together?
The way fake liberals who in reality are sectarian and social class fascists, pseudo nationalists and troop worshipers support these bombings clearly shows how Pakistanis feel about tribal people. The attitude is no different for Baluchistan operation victims.
Many of the pro-war fake liberals and troop worshipers even advocate carpet bombings and some maniacs even talk about the option of nuking insurgency hit areas.
The attitude was same for Bengalis and now these troop worshipers and pseudo nationalists put the complete blame on India or other countries for the creation of Bangladesh. After mercilessly killing people, they expect them to stay loyal to the state which is ruled by the ones who are bombing them and if they rise up to claim their right to exist freely then they are termed as traitors. People who opposed operations against Bengalis were also termed as traitors and similar is happening with those who oppose bombings on FATA and operations in Baluchistan.
The way people in Karachi, Lahore Islamabad and Rawalpindi treat the lives of Balochis and tribal people, I don’t think separation is a bad idea. Its better to go for a peaceful separation of these areas from Pakistan as it will keep the options of good future relationships including free trade zones, visa free travel, common market like Euro zone etc open unlike Bangladesh where the wounds of Pakistan army brutalities are still fresh.
Next time when these fake liberals or troop worshipers go for their sit-ins against suicide attacks or any other activity resulting from this war mess then they should remember that they are the ones who fed this war monster and supported the principle of indiscriminate bombings to settle sectarian or political scores.
According to latest media reports, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has suspended the licenses of Geo News, Geo Entertainment and Geo Tez. This is another attack by establishment on freedom of media and must be condemned.
If the biggest media group of Pakistan (Geo) goes down like this then forget about smaller media groups and wait for the time when establishment will exercise their patriotic totalitarian madness over blogs, news websites, websites of political parties or even their speeches. Worst part of this madness is that a political party like PTI and a leader with great potential like Imran Khan were used like a toilet paper. The establishment did it with ease. All they needed to do was to exploit the right fault lines and play cards like religion, nationalism, blasphemy or some personal differences.
Geo did bad journalism on many occasions including in 2013 elections but we need to know that media freedom also includes bad or biased journalism. Giving up freedom to satisfy some personal hatred is a sign of slave and weak mind.
People need to learn that if you don’t like something use your TV remote. use the control in your own hand instead of giving it to PEMRA or Army. . I opposed Geo for their support of Swat operation or supporting army in this war or for 2013 election coverage but on Hamid Mir issue, they rightly stood up with the victim.
I hope sanity will prevail and this attack by establishment will fail.
Update: Next day government, after pressure from local and international circles, distanced itself from the decision and termed the meeting illegal. Still Geo is not available in many parts of the countries as cable operators are under pressure from military.

May 13, 2014, New York, NY.
The Law Office of Tina Foster today announced that Dr. Aafia Siddiqui has filed a legal case seeking to overturn her September 23, 2010 conviction by a U.S. federal court. Though Dr. Siddiqui has always maintained her innocence and there was no physical evidence to support the charges against her, Dr. Siddiqui was convicted of attempted murder while she was being interrogated by U.S. personnel at a police station in Ghazni, Afghanistan. In documents filed today under seal in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Dr. Siddiqui argues that her conviction and sentence should be vacated because the prosecution withheld crucial evidence, and that she was denied her constitutional right to counsel.
The case argues that the U.S. government illegally withheld evidence that Dr. Siddiqui and her three small children were abducted from Karachi, Pakistan in 2003 and secretly detained, interrogated and tortured in U.S. and Pakistani custody for five years prior to her arrest in 2008. Among other evidence, exhibits filed with the case include a transcript of an audio recording in which a senior Pakistani police official, Imran Shaukat, admits to his involvement in Dr. Siddiqui’s abduction from Karachi, Pakistan in March 2003. A link to the full audio recording in Urdu/Punjabi is available at the following URL:
Dr. Siddiqui also argues that she was denied her right to counsel because the judge forced her to be represented by attorneys that were not acting in her interest. The attorneys, who were paid $2 million by the Government of Pakistan, were permitted to enter the case and manage Dr. Siddiqui’s defense over her repeated objections. Though Dr. Siddiqui informed her trial attorneys that she had been in detention from 2003-2008, they did not present the information to the judge or jury at trial.
Dr. Siddiqui is currently serving an 86-year prison sentence at a U.S. federal prison at FMC Carswell in Fort Worth, TX. She is unable to speak with the media due to prison restrictions, but is presently represented by attorneys Tina Foster and Robert Boyle, both of whom stand in solidarity with the international community in condemning Dr. Siddiqui’s unfair trial and sentence.
“The evidence presented in today’s lawsuit demonstrates not only that Dr. Siddiqui did not receive a fair trial and was wrongfully convicted, but also sheds a bright light on the violations of Dr. Siddiqui’s fundamental human rights by the governments of the United States and Pakistan,” says Foster. “Despite the grotesque torture and abuse perpetrated against Dr. Siddiqui and her children, she has never advocated violence or revenge,” Foster added, “she wishes nothing more than to return to Pakistan where she can be reunited with her children and live in peace.”
For last 6-7 decades army is exploiting ethnic, sectarian and social class prejudices to rule either directly through martial laws or indirectly during puppet or so called civilian governments. Nationalism is another card along with Shaheed card which they use very often to recover their image when their big blunders bring them under some criticism.
Even in this fake war on terror, they used sectarian, ethnic and social class prejudices to forward war agenda in Pakistan and if we are seeing the results in the form of Shia-Sunni or Sufi-Salafi wars or similar other conflicts then we shouldn’t feel shocked. Its the similar outcome they wanted but perhaps a bit more under control where they have command over resulting situations so that they can use these situations for their advantage. They were fools if they were expecting any good out of these evil, corrupt and stupid policies. This mess can only be cleaned if we start valuing our freedom and develop some sense of justice instead of worshiping false gods like troops, mullahs, feudal rulers, sufis, mafia lords or others.
War defeats and loss of half country should tell us that this current colonial legacy based army structure is bogus and not designed for defense but 4 martial laws show it is designed for proxy rule of foreign powers. It was army which gave bases to Americans and invited drones and gave NRO with the help of Americans/British so that this war can go on. its army which made Pakistan a front line american ally in this war against afghans or Pakistanis.
Geo definitely played a doubtful role in 2013 elections but using that issue to promote troop worship is something really disappointing from PTI. Geo is a private TV with business interests so one can expect these things from them and the solution is to change the channel. Focus should have been on the rigging which couldn’t have happened without the support of military and civil security establishments, who were supposed to secure the electoral booths and we saw how it went.
If PTI and Imran Khan are thinking that they will get something good out for the country or for the party by supporting the troops on wrong things then they should learn from their friends in KPK government i.e. Jamaat-e-Islami which supported the troops on many occasions especially in 1971 and we can see how establishment treats them. JI gave lots of sacrifices for establishment blunders in 71 and ended up facing most of the fall out. Even the recent 10 party alliance or new IJI didn’t give them anything.
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto launched his career as Gen (Retarded) Ayub’s puppet, became CMLA with the help of army, supported military’s policies towards bengalis and we saw what these troops did to him.
Nawaz Sharif, another product of establishment, was forced into exile. Even in 2013 elections he came to power through more deals and we will see how hard it will be for him to keep up the promises especially on issues like peace with India or on Musharraf case or on missing persons case (We already saw what happened with them in Islamabad).
Benazir Bhutto made NRO deal and we can see how it ended.
I mean, what the heck is wrong with politicians and even their supporters? Why can’t they see the real root causes of the problem which are related to the British legacy proxy ruling structure in the form of occupied mercenary armed forces? How will they be able to solve fundamental issues if they try to please the real devil?
The troop pleasing attitude is expected from feudal-corporatist politicians like Nawaz or Zardari, mafias like MQM etc but a party which promotes justice and human rights and ends up surrendering in front of troop worship mindset is really disappointing.
Its not a secret that I have been supporting Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) and Imran Khan for a long time. I supported them because they were bold in their opposition of General (R) Musharraf and his dictatorship. They were bold against his war on terror policies, attack on judiciary, attack on media, war crimes and violations of human rights.
However, the recent troop worship mindset or I should say surrender in front of troop worship mindset by PTI and IK is really disappointing for me.
The current post is mostly a series of comments on IK’s recent interview with Jasmeen Manzoor. You can watch the interview here on these links:
- Quoting Singapore example is pathetic. Singapore is very low in ranking when it comes to media freedom. So PTI is going to go for a Singapore type strangle hold on media? are we going for Zia or Ayub type media policies? Justice without freedom is nothing and not possible. There is no justice in slavery and a party like Pakistan Tehreek e “Insaf” should know this thing. Media freedom also includes freedom to be biased or freedom to propagate their own agenda (right or wrong is a subjective thing).
- One thing he should also know is that it was not Geo which started this Taliban Khan rant, it was General (Retarded) Musharraf who first used the term Taliban without a beard for Imran Khan but then again IK has forgotten all this in his newly discovered troop worship nationalism.
- Appealing people to boycott Geo voluntarily is the right way instead of siding with military on an issue involving an attack over journalist like Hamid Mir. Geo surely did deceptive reporting as they are a business group with business interests but focusing the attention on a business group and vindicating military establishment which actually runs the show is disappointing. He is criticizing Geo on supporting war on terror but probably forgot to mention who is fighting this war or who brought this war in the first place? Its army that did this! He forgot to mention General (R) Kiyani who criticized the people who were against this war and he did this right before elections.
Its just like a surrender in front of troop worship mindsets which also include many of PTI supporters and leaders too. As a leader, he should help people take a stand in front of tyrants like he did during judiciary movement or during his consistent opposition against this war. Its seem (with huge disappointment) that even he is tired or defeated and now seems to be in a compromising mood. Disappointment is not seeing people like Nawaz, Zardari, Altaf etc surrendering in front of military might but disappointment is seeing people like IK, who have achieved so much for the country, surrendering in front of military mafia.
- Where is the plan to challenge PPO? PPO is a blunder and a gift to army which can be well used by them to target political parties like PMLN itself or PTI or JI or others in case of a martial law. Nawaz has a habit of shooting in the foot by trusting military with more power but now IK is learning these skills.
What about missing persons issue? Why no protests against the use of fighter jets like JF-17 thunder on Pakistani populated areas? Why no protest against army for protecting Musharraf? Army will burn the whole country just to protect their interests and people like Mushi but troop worship mindset will still chant Zindabad slogans for them which is a big big shame.
I really hate myself while writing this but need to write it to give an honest view point.
I am really disappointed with almost all of my Shia friends who support this war. I thought there must be some good significant number of Shias in Pakistan who don’t blindly toe the line of that Jerk Khemenei or Seestani but here it seems its not the case and almost all are determined to push not only their selves in this more war mess and resulting terrorism but also others too. Almost all my Shia friends cannot see the fact they are being used as a fuel for this war by Pakistani and other pro-war establishments including their beloved Khomenist regime in Iran.
I also criticize sunni or deobandi or ahl-e-hadith or other sects and social classes for the hate based crap some of their leaders or other people do (LeJ or ST or Mumtaz Qadri or Malik Ishaq types) but a clear thing which disappoints me is that others have broad range of views and diversity at extremes (almost all against innocent killings except few mad people) but for my almost all Shia friends it looks that they are toeing some kind of deep rooted hate based agenda against others with no room for reconciliation.
They need to know no anti-war on terror person supports suicide attacks on Hazara or on other Shia communities but what I have seen is that almost all (not all) of my Shia friends feel really happy when they know about deaths of people including children from other sects in tribal areas, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan or any where else. Even in Pakistan, they don’t really sympathize with anyone else but merely use one majority sect like Barelvi against the others like Deobandi or Ahl-e-Hadith. The trend is not just in religious maniacs but also evident in so called liberal or moderates.
I have always criticized army for this war mess but those who think they are being victimized should also see where they are going or what they are becoming in blind hatred.
They are trying to eliminate any space for those who want peaceful resolution of this war issue as probably it doesn’t fit into their hate based agenda to settle some centuries old good for nothing historical issues. Anti-war on terror people always condemn LeJ or other groups but unfortunately my Shia friends almost never condemn aerial bombings or military’s use of heavy conventional or even chemical weapons against other sects which is a crime even in worldly laws.
I don’t have any sympathies now for those who want innocent killings on both sides to satisfy their hatred for other sects and social classes. my only concern is those unrelated (who do not support this war or resulting terrorism) people who die as collateral damage but unfortunately there is no way to discriminate one from the other in aerial or suicide bombings which Shia groups want when they support this war.
May the wrath of Allah be on those from both sides of the conflict (Army, TTP, MWM,LeJ,SUC,SIC, PPP, ST,PMLN,MQM or others) who support these mass murders either through aerial/drone/military bombings or through suicide attacks.
Even India never does aerial bombings (drone or jet) on civilian populated areas despite almost 2 dozens of insurgencies.
I pray for the hardest wrath of Allah on those who consider innocent dead kids as an unavoidable or tolerable or necessary collateral damage.
I still pray for the blind followers of this corrupt system to get on the path of justice and peace but it seems we are going for complete self-destruction.
If the hatred is about religion or sects then at least while supporting aerial bombings, we should remember what the holy book says:
“O ye who believe! Be steadfast witnesses for Allah in equity, and let not hatred of any people seduce you that ye deal not justly. Deal justly, that is nearer to your duty. Observe your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is Informed of what ye do.” [Al-maeda ,8]
Fake liberals (In actual sectarian and social class fascists) and troop worshipers often say that there are no other options than war. They forget the fact that their decade old war is the main reason behind the formation of TTP type groups which were not there before this war.
There are still many options other than war like:
a) First taking back bases from USA and come out of this war.
b) Take tribes and groups who are willing for talks on board (after the main motivation of fighting ends due to Pakistan’s coming out of this war)
c) After tribes and groups who are willing to talk come on board for peace then deal with the groups who are not willing to talk after looking into their individual motivations.
d) Once it is established that a group has some criminal or sectarian agenda and they are not willing for peace then force is the right option but not like aerial bombings or other methods where civilians become collateral damage. War crimes are needed to be avoided for sure and tribes should be taken into confidence before any activity like targeted action.
e) People like Musharraf should be brought to justice for putting Pakistan into this mess and most importantly for using sectarian and social class fault lines to forward war agenda and strengthen his rule.
f) Musharraf gang still supporting his policies from within establishment should be removed.
g) We also need to see which groups from settled areas side or from government or politics or even media are determined to push Pakistan into more war mess for their sectarian or social class interests or for the interests of their pay masters.
h) A truth and reconciliation process should take place as a lot of hatred is there on both sides against each due to aerial bombings, drones, suicide attacks, missing persons or other transgressions from both sides.
It seems war propaganda machine has won and now mercenary occupied armed forces of Pakistan are going for a full scale offensive against tribal populations to hunt down few alleged terrorists. According to various reports, several dozens including women and children have been killed in aerial bombings by Pakistan Airforce.
These aerial bombings are a victory for enemies of Pakistan and its people. World is making progress in space tech, energy resource development, education etc and improving the lives of their people but Pakistan is stuck an imported war.
I don’t care much about the deaths of willing combatants from both sides (Army or TTP) and now losing sympathies for the deaths of people related to sectarian groups chanting for more war as it is their own choice to jump in the mess and become a fuel for this war. My real concern is about the lives of innocent civilians who die as collateral damage.
Terrorism is not a justifiable think but to go for same policies which produced TTP or suicide attacks in the first place is something ridiculous.
So called civil society is divided on the issue due to social class and sectarian differences which Musharraf regime exploited well for the war.
I hope we can have joint protests against military operations and suicide attacks. Unfortunately what I have seen is that these anti-terrorist attack protests turn into a war propaganda tool and this war is one of the main reasons behind this TTP or suicide attacks. Before demanding for more war to control suicide attacks or TTP, people need to know that there were not TTP or suicide attacks before this war.
