To wrathchild, I like your new title “Butt Head”
Dr.Raiz, incident is an eye opener to all of us. How long are we going to tolerate this injustice .The Vice Chancellor of the University of Karachi is responsible to look in to this matter, and come to the defence and safegaurd of people working in this esteemed establishment. If a professor is not safe ,of the wrath (no pun intended) of theRangers. how can they take care of thousands of students in there. Now a ” sharif” person would not like to enter this University.
We would like to know what actions have been taken by the Vice Chancellor.

Its the problem with us that we only react to the situation if it happens with us and its OK for us if it happens with others.

18 to 20 years of education! You do god knows what to get yourself a Phd. but by god sir you are the reason our country is in the dumpster. “Butthead,” extremely creative I must say, a 15 year old can come up with the same insult. Congratulations, the Dr. before of your name has at least evolved your IQ to that of a pimply, puberty hitting teenager.

Just so someone calls you a butt head (and it is never butthead as a single word by the way) does not mean that their high education is in vain, what does a person be referred to if he is a butt head by highly qualified person?. One more thing I thought Nazneen was a feminine sounding name? My apologies being a school teacher I could not help correcting the mistakes.
What pained me is to learn that you find if a professor was not strolling and got beaten so it justifies the beating. This is what our country has come to? You seem educated, think when a highly educated staff member should be thrashed in public in view of witnesses, the crime has to be of a very heinous nature. Secondly did you not hear anything about taking the law in your own hands? What are our courts for? The smart Alec that you are you will quip that we also beat our lawyers and judges in public.

I do not very often go for comments and counter comments, but dear ‘wrathchild’ I think you just made an impulsive comment and did not mean anything. I will be sad if I find that you are a teenager, ’cause I have high hopes with them, and I trust they show greater respect to a teacher.
We as a nation are at a bottomless pit of shameful behavior please do not make it worse by adding total disrespect and disregard to the teaching profession.

Wrathchild, do you really mean what u write? Why will u find it objectionable for a Ph.D to use the word butt head, being educated means not calling a spade a spade. And truly it is not a ‘gali’ just a description of a person.
How can anyone with any sense in their head find it right that a teacher be beaten in public?

Listen, Dr. Ahmed studied in the Karachi University before heading off to Cambridge to do his Ph.d. Now, you tell me, why would a Ph.d from Cambridge refuse offers from the world-over, and instead teach in his own country? Just to make a fool of his country? or make this country ‘a dumpster’? If he really wanted to contribute in making Pakistan a dumpster, he would have declined the offer from Karachi University, and not contributed in bettering the quality of education there. you tell me, is it wise to speak b4 u know evrything? well, u certainly believe that knowing nothing allows u to say things that do not follow reason.

Highly lamentable incident. The Rangers persons involved in this incident should be taken to task for their shameful and cowardly conduct. I say cowardly becuase four of them beat up the unarmed professor as if it to mete out personal vendetta. I strongly condemn this disgraceful behavior and urge the govt to ensure better training and education of the Rangers. They certainly need to learn civilesed ways of controlling a person who in their opinion may be overstepping the limits of law.
